Keepers of the Water (2010) DOCUMENTARY
Short documentary about a young group of Native children in Fort Chipewyan, Canada. Their town sits directly downstream from the Alberta Tar Sands - the most environmentally polluting industrial project in the world. The members of their community are dying of rare forms of cancer, the fish and moose meat have tested positive for highly toxic levels of arsenic, the water is no longer drinkable, and there is no end in sight. On their own initiative, these kids came together to protest this environmental crime. check out the Machiavellian back-story to keepers of the water www.KeepersoftheWater.com watch our other work here WanderingEyeProductions.com/WATCH.html

The movement was created with an EZ FX Jib Arm with a remote head (Camera Turret PT24) on a simple doorway dolly with 12 feet of tracks. The camera was upside down so that we could get as low as possible to the water and our crane grip, dolly grip, remote head operator(DP), and focus puller(1stAC) rehearsed the shot for a few hours before our performer, Jessica Keeling, got in that freezing water and held still for that long approach. We almost didn't get the shot, but that night, when the whole crew saw the first three shots of the movie put together, we knew we were onto something... www.wanderingeyeproductions.com/Becoming.html

A Grain of Sand (2009) DOCUMENTARY
This is Brendon Grimshaw's love story with Moyenne Island, which we filmed between 2007 & 2008. CAMERA ON DANCE - in the trees
This clip is the result of an investigation exploring the possibilities for filming movement and playing with perspective. The work was a collaboration with the wonderful dancers at Ballet Jörgen Canada www.balletjorgen.ca and Walter Klassen's amazing Far-Out camera rig http://www.walterklassen.com. This piece features dancer Saniya Abilmajineva who literally wore the camera and became the architect of the space and scene. The process was key to the development of a short film entitled "The Shift" which will feature this technique in a narrative context. To be released at the end of 2013 by www.WanderingEyeProductions.com Made possible with the generous support of The Canada Council for the Arts. www.canadacouncil.ca
